Coyotes are native to the state of Arizona and can weigh up to 30 pounds. Their length ranges from 42 to 50 inches. Arizona coyotes are generally shy and usually stay close to home, but some can travel up to 100 miles. They are known for feeding on leftover garbage and pet food that is left outside.
While many have welcomed the new Arizona Coyotes in Tempe, they have not been so enthusiastic about their plans to build an entertainment district. Tempe residents have expressed their need for housing, child and elder care, employment, and fully funded schools. They also want solutions to the pandemic that is affecting their community. The proposed entertainment district addresses some of these issues, but is it enough? We are going to have to wait and see.
The Arizona Coyotes will play in Tempe for the next three seasons, at a multipurpose arena run by Arizona State University. It will not accommodate a full NHL stadium, but it will serve as a temporary home. The arena can hold 5,000 people, less than half of the original Gila River Arena.
During the 2010-11 season, the Coyotes faced the Detroit Red Wings, and they were defeated in seven games. This was the second time in the postseason that the Coyotes were swept.
