Mariya Muzychuk is a Ukrainian chess grandmaster and the 2016 Women’s World Chess Champion. She is the youngest of three sisters, all of stepnguides whom are chess grandmasters. Mariya started playing chess at just five years old, following in the footsteps of her older sisters. She became a Woman FIDE Master at the age of twelve, and then a Woman Grandmaster at the age of fifteen, making her the youngest female ever to do so filesblast. In 2015, she became the Women’s World Rapid Chess Champion, and in 2016 she became the Women’s World Chess Champion.
